Vitamins ADEK capsules (Paravit CF®)
(For Cystic Fibrosis)

Restricted to the dietary management of cystic fibrosis on the specific recommendation of a specialist in cystic fibrosis. It is registered as a Food for Special Medical Purposes and must be used under medical supervision.

Paravit-CF contains higher amounts of fat soluble vitamins than regular food supplements.

Vitamin and Mineral Supplement (DEKAs® Plus)
(Softgel capsules , chewable tablets , paediatric liquid )

DEKAs®Plus is for the dietary management of cystic fibrosis on the specific recommendation of a specialist in cystic fibrosis. It is registered as a Food for Special Medical Purposes and must be used under medical supervision.

DEKAs®Plus contains all the vitamins A, B,C D,E,K , zinc, selenium and anti-oxidants.

Availabe as softgel capsules , chewable tablets and a paediatric liquid preparation.

Softgel capsules are not suitable for children under 10 years. They contain bovine gelatin and soy.

Chewable tablets are not suitable for children under 4 years.

Paediatric liquid is not suitable for children over 3 years.

DEKAs®Plus products replace AquADEKs as this has been discontinued.

Specialist to initiate and stabilise medicine prior to continuation in Primary Care
To be prescribed as per Shared Care Guidance. If no SCG in place status reverts to red.
Red medicines are designated as specialist only medicines which should only be prescribed by a specialist, usually within secondary care (either due to the requirement for specialist knowledge, long-term monitoring requirements, or restrictions that mean medicine supplies are only available to hospitals).
A decision has been made either locally and/or nationally not to routinely commission this preparation. Do not prescribe.
To be purchased over the counter. May be prescribed for chronic, long term conditions or on admission to hospital if essential.
